The Palmetto Cremation Society was founded and built in 1982, and operated as John Liberatos Crematory. It was the very first crematory built in Charleston. It is conveniently located near Magnolia, Bethany,
St. Lawrence and many other cemeteries in Historic Charleston. It is a full service, licensed funeral chapel specializing in cremation, memorial items, burials at sea, low cost traditional earth burials, transportation services, monuments and markers, and shipments of human remains, embalmed or cremated. Owned and operated by Archie D. Willis, III, CFSP, and his business partner, Mark M. Smith, CFSP.
